BERRY BASKET
Make a small berry basket, perfect for foraging or using around the house or garden.
During the course, you will be guided by your tutor, through the various stages of making your basket, using a variety of willow and the stake and strand method.
You will learn how to grade willow, make a slath, do a three-rod wale, simple track border and insert a handle.
Suitable for beginners. 18 years +

Small rope coil BASKET
Make a small, round, rope coil basket, perfect for using around the house or garden.
During the 2-day course, you will be guided by your tutor, through the various stages of making your basket, using a variety of willow and the stake and strand method.
You will learn how to grade the willow, make a slath, do a four-rod wale and rope coil style weave, and finish with a 3-behind- 1, rod border.

Rustic foraging basket
Make a small, frame foraging basket, a great basket to try your hand at willow weaving.
Your tutor will guide you step by step through the different processes, starting by grading the willow into different thicknesses, how to form hoops, weaving techniques, adding new weavers and picking off.

round or oval trivet and nature reserve walk
Make a 10" approx, round or oval trivet, useful as a hot plate in the kitchen, for presenting food, or as a stunning table centre piece.
During the course, you will be guided by your tutor, through the various stages of making your trivet, from how the hoop is formed, to grading willow into different thicknesses, adding new weavers and picking off.
During the day you will also be taken on a tour of the nature reserve.
Suitable for anyone over 14 (14 -17-year-olds need to be accompanied by an adult)

Come and make two willow flowers, perfect for your garden, or to give as a gift.
You will learn how to grade the willow into different thicknesses, make a slath and how to form the petals of your flower, before heading out onto the nature reserve to spot some of the flora and fauna among the willow beds.

oval shallow dish and nature reserve walk
Come and make an oval shallow dish, a perfect basket for a complete beginner.
You will learn how to grade the willow into different thicknesses, make a willow hoop and 'ribs', lashing, joining new weavers and picking off, before heading out onto the nature reserve to spot some of the flora and fauna among the willow beds.

We love sustainable, homemade, Christmas crafts here at Carymoor and have three wonderful willow-based crafts to share with you on this festive experience.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 8 weeks before the course starts. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a course, a full refund will be given (for the full price of the course fee only). Courses are non-transferable.

pottery Experience
Make a ceramic plant pot and macrame hanger, to take home for yourself or give as a gift!
During the course, you will be guided by your tutor, through the various stages of making your plant pot, using hand building techniques.
On this course, you will also learn how to make a simple macrame hanger, which your plant pot can sit inside.
Once made, your plant pot will be bisque fired and then glaze fired and will be ready for collection at a later date.
Suitable for anyone over 18.

DUSK WALK EXPERIENCE
On arrival enjoy a hot drink and artisan pastry from our local bakery, then head out onto the nature reserve.
As dusk falls, we make our way onto the landfill to see if we can spot any badgers or deer, before making our way through the meadows and willows to Nightingale woods and long pond.
Together we will look for tracks and footprints, and search for creatures in the pond.
Duration: 2 hours. Timings dependent on sunset.
Min age 7. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

safari night WALK EXPERIENCE
Arrive at Carymoor before sunset and head outdoors for a fire lighting taster session, before attempting our nocturnal creatures orienteering trail and eating smores!
As dusk falls across the site, we will set off to explore the nature reserve, making our way onto the landfill to see if we can spot any badgers or deer, before making our way through the Meadows and Willows to Nightingale Woods and Long Pond.
Together we will look for tracks and footprints, and search for creatures in the pond.
Duration: 3 hours. Timings dependent on sunset.

surVIVAL day EXPERIENCE
The perfect way to celebrate a birthday!
Come with a group of friends and enjoy an action-packed, exciting, survival experience.
This two-hour experience is packed full of team challenges, games, den building, fire lighting, orienteering and our favourite... smores!
You are then welcome to use our centre for your birthday tea.
Duration: 2.5 hours of guided activities/ 1 hour use of centre for birthday tea.
Min age 7. Groups of 8 children must be accompanied by 2 adults.
